About Global Quality Services, Inc.

Global Quality Services Incorporated (GQS) is a Florida-based company, which provides high-resolution film scanning services for the mapping and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) industry. We work closely with Aerial Photography Firms and Land Planning Groups to provide high quality digital imagery for GIS and presentation applications. We take pride in being able to produce the finest quality scans in the industry while still maintaining competitive prices.

We are also a consulting service for image production and imaging concerns. GQS can help companies increase their image production capability by providing a production flow analysis for their current production lines. Our technicians produce custom software and tailored solutions to solve imaging problems and to meet the demands of this fast paced industry. Meet Our Team

President, Kenneth Colvin, has an outstanding success record in the high-resolution scanning service industry. He brings to GQS the intimate knowledge of the inner workings of film scanning, especially using the VX4000. He worked as a Scanning Services Manager for 12 years at SAIC where he not only scanned commercial imagery but also provided all of the scanning support for the USGS NDOP program. He developed imaging tools and helped create production lines to support scanning and orthophoto production for both USGS and NIMA projects.

Director of Operation & IT Services, Angela Colvin, brings to GQS, over 15 years of experience in business with a particular emphasis in GIS. She excels in challenging environments and is aggressive in her policies for quality control and quality assurance. She has worked as a GIS specialist for BTR Labs and SAIC and as a GIS database administrator for Federal Data Corporation on-site at NASA in Cape Canaveral

Mapping/Office Assistant, Emma Patino, started with GQS in August 2006. She is a dedicated hard worker with a positive can-do attitude. We are very happy to have her as part of the GQS Family and look forward to all the new and exciting opportunities her position opens up for us.

List of projects that we have been involved with in the past.

Photomaps/FARES Scanning and Processing. A yearly project to scan and crop grayscale imagery into sections for use in Plat Map Books for 20 counties in Florida.
2006 NAIP Program. Scanning of North and South Carolina 1-meter imagery (over 5000 images).
2005 NAIP Program. Scanning of Arizona and North Carolina imagery (over 3000 images).
2004 NAIP Program. Scanning of Arizona and Colorado imagery (over 2000 images).
USGS NDOP program. Producing Digital Orthophoto Quarter Quads for the continental US. This program was in place for 5 years and SAIC was rated one of the top vendors for these products.
City of Tucson 1 foot orthophoto project. Seamless mosaic of 1100 images. Collection of DEM and production of contour plots for entire city region.
NASA web GIS implementation for facilities management project.
SFWMD state plane coordinate conversion project. Converted all DOQQs for entire district to State Plane East zone (901). 1280 DOQQs converted and delivered in 3 weeks.
